Pat Kirch: Tour Blog October 29 2012 By: Pat Kirch

Hello everyone, Pat here, we are currently spending our off day in North Carolina before the show here tomorrow. Yesterday we played in Washington DC at the Howard Theatre. We were not sure if the show was going to get canceled or not because of the hurricane but I am glad that everything was ok. I hope all of our friends on the east coast that we just saw are safe during all of the bad weather. Today we went and picked out our halloween costumes for the Atlanta show. It is going to be a spooky time… I hope all of you coming to the show dress. We will have tons of pictures and videos right here on 8123 the next day, so make sure to check back! Again please stay safe and we will see you soon. -Pat

The Maine: Closing of 2012 September 28 2012 By: Pat Kirch

We get to end out 2012 and a year of non stop touring with one last trip around the US. It is going to be great to see everyone and play a  bunch of music before forgetting about all those songs for awhile and working on the future. It is going to feel kind of like a goodbye for now and a thank you for supporting us with Pioneer. It was a journey and this is going to be the time to stop thinking about it and just enjoy what we worked so hard for. -Pat Get your tickets for our fall tour here...

This Century: Alex's Tour Blog September 27 2012 By: Sean Silverman

For starters this Europe tour is incredible. This is also my first tour in a bus....a double Decker bus to be exact. It is wonderful. I am really grateful to be on tour with such good people. The food, people and surroundings in Italy are all fantastic. It's funny trying to attempt to speak Italian. Really looking forward to the rest of this adventure. Hope to see new faces very soon!!!

Pat Kirch: Thought About Touring September 25 2012 By: Pat Kirch

When we first started touring I would get so home sick, especially when we were out of the country. I just wanted to get back home. I always enjoyed the shows and meeting everyone but everything else in the day just felt long and dragged out. I didn't have a phone, I didn't know where to eat, so it just became a drag. Sitting on the bus now in England it is strange to think back on those first few tours because it all feels so normal now and I enjoy it and exploring the cities we get to visit. We get to see so many places I would have never thought and we get to continue to come back to these places and see faces over and over again which is what makes it all worth it. I love that when we go to Chicago and see the same faces we have for the past five years. Everyone has grown with us and the music. That is the goal, to be able to write the songs we want and continue to play them for people. Let's do it for years to come. ...

The Maine: Garrett's Film Blog September 13 2012 By: Pat Kirch

On our North American tour in the summer of 2012 I started using a film camera to capture random moments through my day. I had no prior knowledge on film photography and these photos are me learning how to use a camera. Not every photo is in focus or the lighting on most aren't even close to correct but each photo tells a story.  In a world where anyone can capture anything they want with the  ease of pulling out there phone, film really pushes you to capture the perfect moment. Non of these photos were digitally touched up at all. You can't take a 100 pictures of one thing and then go back a delete all the bad ones. You must time everything perfect because you only get one chance. You can't instantly look at what you happened to capture you must wait till you go and get your film developed. That is the my favorite part of film because once you get your photos back it's almost like time traveling back to the moment you took it. On tour so much happens every single day and you are somewhere new it's hard not to forget the random moments throughout the day. Film has given me the ability to relive times that over years could have disappeared. Well I hope you enjoy these photos and maybe make you interested in getting a film camera for yourself.

Garrett

The Maine: Jared (EU Updated #1) September 12 2012 By: Pat Kirch

Hey everybody, Jared here with an update on our first few shows of the Pioneer EU tour. We're playing in beautiful Barcelona tonight, and the tour is off to a great start. We've been getting nice and cozy on the bus with our good pals in This Century. It's pretty awesome to think that our band just played two shows in Italy. I got to meet so many new fans, and the shows were a really fun way to kick off our last official Pioneer tour. Yesterday was a relaxing day off in Barcelona, and everybody headed to the beach to cool down. We're feeling refreshed tonight, and we can't wait to make our way through the rest of Europe. See you soon!

This Century: Italy (Update #2) September 12 2012 By: Sean Silverman

 Milan, IT

It's an odd feeling to fall asleep and wake up in a completely

different city without having the slightest clue what happened.

That's what showing up in Milan felt like today.  The venue had it's

usual "venue musk" going on in full affect...its an odd cross between

humidity and sweat, you should try it some time if you've never had

the opportunity...anyhoot...it was crazy to see people lined up 8

hours before the show just basking in the heat, that is some serious

dedication right thurrr...Everyone we've met so far has been so

incredibly pleasant and accomodating..I've finally learned the phrase

"how do you say" which I've abused significantly. It just feels wrong

not to atleast attempt to say some words in Italian every so often
